Frogs against cancer

On January 15, the Dart Frogs Racing Team donated to and also participated in a 12-hour charity race to raise money to Macmillan cancer support in UK. The virtual race took place at Silverstone Circuit with a grid of 24 GT3-class cars. The event, hosted by Missed Apex Podcast, managed to raise GBP 5.000
The team roaster on this occasion was:
- Bjarke Seit
- Mathias Jensen
- Peter Tong
- Jan Bronée
The race was fun and exceptionally clean, since it was a single class field. Therefore, we did not need to manage cars with huge speed-differences. After almost 12 hours of the race, we were running P9, but P8 and P7 was less than 50 seconds in front!
We took a fuel saving approach during the very last part of the race and managed to skip a pitstop and move to P7. But on the very last laps we could not defend the position due to fuel limitation which forced us to fall back to P8.
Team-driver of the day: Peter Tong - he was on fire (and so was his tires)!
The Monster Raid in The Green Hell

On September 26, the Dart Frogs Racing team was visiting the Nürburgring Combined track to participate in a 4-hour race in the GT3 class with 43 GT3 cars on the grid. This was a multiclass race where also 17 Mazda MX5 Cup cars were on the track.
The brave pilots on the raceday were Bjarke Seit and Jan Bronée.
The MX5 cars was quite a challenge since the speed-difference is obviously huge, which created some interesting situations.
Jan qualified the car in P29 which was a bit too far down the grid as our expected results was P21 according to the participants iRating.
What-the-heck, we will just advance our positions during the race. And indeed, we did – in what must be named a Monster Raid, we advanced from P29 to P8 during the 4-hour race !!😊
P7 was actually “stollen” from us by a MX5 on the very last lap, as it was driving damaged and slowly in the middle of the track just before the extremely fast left-hander turn Mutkurve(Angstkurve!!). That incident allowed the chasing GT3 car to get within drafting-distance and easily overtake later on the very long straight just before the start-finish line.
Anyhow - this was great fun !
On the podium in Sao Paolo

The first race in the revived team Dart Frogs Racing was a great success. The 3-hour race at Interlagos on August 28 was occupied by 49 GT3 cars. The team this day consisted of Bjau and Jan in car 88. Bjau was given the task of qualifying the car. He then chose to put the car on pole! - just because he could
He then drove the entire first stint from the front. Only P2-P5 could keep up with his pace. I drove stint 2, but unfortunately, I could not keep the front. Some of the cars were let by to avoid driving defensively and thus avoid that the front-pack should gain too much time.
I pitted the car in P7, after which Bjau drove the 3rd and last stint. When the pit round was completed, Bjau was running in P10.
There were quite a few teams running an opposite strategy than us - where they double-stinted the tires.
Now Bjau starts a crazy raid, where he managed to drive the car to P3 and thus secured car 88 a podium place!! 😊
P2 was fair and square faster than us, while P1 was slower but hit us on a better strategy.
It was a great race with a packed track with lots of action!!

This is the ranking of Old Boys drivers. Main reason for winning this series, was mostly because I participated in every of the 14 races. Some of the other guys are defiantly very fast. But then again – numbers does not lie

- Christian Faurhøj
- Mathias Jensen
- Jan Bronée
Mathias was the main contributor as he had almost 4 hours of seat-time!
It was as fun event with a good course. Even though we were sent back 2 laps by a disconnected line due to internet connectivity issues, we managed to pull home a 14’th place. This was no so bad after all

McLaren GT3 Wheel

I recently received my USB converted McLaren GT3 wheel featuring a Q1R quick-release. This was supplied from Sim Racing Machines. Here Simon Maltby was so kind to supply me with a special edition of his conversion where no spacer is placed between the wheel and the quick-release. This conversion can’t be reversed, this is however no problem for me as I plan to stay on my OSW platform for many years ahead. I have tested the wheel for some hours now and I am quite happy with the result. The value for money ratio is in my mind very good for a wheel with bite-point adjustable clutch-paddles. The rubber handlebars feel very well in the hands. As a last comment, I can tell that the service from and communication with Simon was outstanding and I can highly recommend dealing with SRM.
Below image shows the conversion and how close the release is to the backplate of the wheel:
